Day 30 - Split, Croatia

Up via the alarm to say goodbye to Ivitsa. K and I went for a short walk to grab some last pics as the weather seems to have turned for the worse. It is windy and cooler but no rain as yet (touch wood). We also said our goodbyes to Shelley who owns the apartment and who has been very kind to us. It poured as we left and continued for the next hour.

We also said goodbye to Militca in Blato before driving to Vela Luka to return the car and a two hour wait for the ferry. I write this on that ferry as it rocks to and fro due to the large swells. Lucky I am wearing some pressure wrist straps that prevent nausea.

We arrived in Split at 4.45 and sought shelter under bus stops from the pouring rain on the way to our apartment. K, Tilly and I walked through the old town where we saw a huge film set where they were making the Game of Thrones. It started to absolutely pour and I was concerned Finn who remained in the apartment would not close our bedroom window where my bag lied. So Tilly and I ran back and were completely drenched. Finn did close the window after some of my contents became wet. K returned later drenched as well so we made a makeshift drier in the bathroom using the heater.

Tomorrow will be a new continent, country and for the sixth time, a change of currency for we head to Casablanca, Morocco.
